Treefrog Consulting Ltd announced today that their latest version of Foundation, the reinsurance deal pricing and portfolio rollup tool, comes ready for integration with Low Code platforms, encouraging the rapid development of the underwriting workbench.
Dmitry Mnushkin, Treefrog’s President, said, “Foundation was built to integrate into a larger client ecosystem. The mechanics of how that integration took place followed many paths and depended on client preferences.
“What has recently impressed us most was how easily we could build out a powerful Underwriting Workbench for one of our clients using a low-code platform. We were able to quickly summarize and display highly technical data in a manner that executives found intuitive, meaningful and interactive.”
The demonstration showed that using Foundation as the loss calculation engine, it was simple to build a web page that allowed an underwriter to adjust several loss loads and see the impact on expected loss by region and peril in real time. This is functionality which did not exist in such a tidy form factor in the application itself, but was added after the fact as an internal inititive, thus significantly multiplying the value of the original tool.
Treefrog has embraced low code platforms as huge time and cost savers for its customers. There are many platforms to choose from, but they all offer a crucial advantage – the ability to connect to most systems, surface their data and initiate actions – with just a few hours or days of effort.
“Low code platforms are a system integration game changer and provide an excellent mechanism to extract additional value from existing tools and software.”, said Mr. Mnushkin. “They have allowed our customers to say goodbye to the IT megaprojects of the past where teams with dozens of people worked for years to merge systems. Now it’s just a matter of picking the best tool and getting started with someone who knows how it works.”
